Description

Walk : Artemis and/or Caledonia Waterfalls trail, depending on travellers preferences and time availability.

Duration : 6, 8 or 10 hours (different packages)

From : Limassol, Nicosia. Trip from Paphos or Larnaca takes longer in the car - less time for the walk. Only 8 or 10 hour trips are possible from Agia Napa or Protaras.

Highlights :

Artemis trail (8 km / 5 mi, flat and easy) at highest elevation. When the weather is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of Cyprus.

Caledonia Waterfalls Trail (linear, steep, 3 km long). In a lush valley crossing the stream a few times.

Depending on time availability and travellers preferences we may visit attractions eg a stone-built village, a medieval bridge, a Troodos painted church.

Transportation : Usually in a Citroen C8 MPV car.

Included: Guiding the walk and the trip.

Excluded : Food, drinks, entry fee at archaeological sites if any, etc.

The Trip:

It is primarily a walking trip that may be a combination between Artemis and Caledonia Waterfalls trail, depending on travellers’ preferences and time availability.

Duration : Six, Eight or Ten hours, depending on package selection

Pickup time : To be agreed with the travellers. Usually it is between 08:30 and 09:30.

Pickup location : At an agreed place (eg hotel, port, etc) usually in Limassol or Nicosia. It can be at other cities or resorts (eg Paphos, Larnaca, Pissouri, even Protaras or Agia Napa). From Agia Napa or Protaras the trip would make sense if the duration is 8 or 10 hours, as, due to the significant distance, there is considerable time to be spent in the car.

Itinerary : Initially we do the walk (s). If we have time we visit other attractions (natural and/or cultural). Once we complete the walk(s) we return to the pickup location stopping at attractions subject to time availability. The overall itinerary may differ depending on the pick up location. From Nicosia we may visit for example Kakopetria and or Agios Nicolaos tis Stegis Unesco World Heritage painted church. From Limassol we may visit Omodos village and/or Kelephos medieval Venetian bridge, etc. The trip may be customised to include a meal at a traditional village restaurant, winetasting, etc.

The Walks:

Artemis trail (8 km / 5 mi, flat and easy) is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus with unique flora on the island. When the weather is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of Cyprus.

Caledonia Waterfalls Trail (linear, three km / two miles long and steep) at an elevation of down to 1,000 m offers quite a different environment (eg plane trees, strawberry trees, violas, brambles, bracken, trout if walkers are lucky, etc). It runs in a lush valley crossing the stream a few times.

The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a considerably elevation range in Cyprus.

Transportation :

We usually use a Citroen C8 MPV car.

What’s included:

Guiding in the walk and the trip in general.

What’s excluded :

Food, drinks, entry fee at archaeological sites if any, etc.
